Job Description

At 642 Discovery Nw Sweden AB, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Direct Payments team in Stockholm. This is an exciting opportunity to shape WBD's state-of-the-art Payments Platform with tax, fraud, and DTC payment methods such as card payments, PayPal payments, and payment methods on local markets across the globe.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop functional changes to existing software systems with minimal guidance from team members.
- Collaborate with other engineers to assist with features another engineer designed or take the lead on feature design yourself.
- Describe and defend your design and code decisions to other engineers, embracing constructive feedback, and adapting your approach to align with team and company standards and objectives.
- Consistently demonstrate good software ownership practices (e.g., code reviews, code comments, etc.) in all contributions.

About the Team
The Direct to Consumer Group is a technology company within the Warner Bros. Discovery brand, building a global streaming video platform (OTT) and a suite of applications to power max and all of our other network's brands globally. Our platform covers everything from search, catalog, video transcoding, personalization, and payments, to global subscriptions, and really much more.

Requirements
- At least 7 years of industry experience, with payment domains being a plus.
- Proficient in Java and a few other languages.
- Experience with persistence and caching solutions such as PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, Caffeine.
- Knowledge of micro-service-based architectures using gRPC and Kafka for interservice communication.
- Asynchronous, non-blocking, functional style of programming experience, including frameworks such as Spring WebFlux, Node.js, vert.x.
- Usage and deep understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Experience in building, operating, and owning services, including alerting, metrics, and logging using Prometheus, CloudWatch, Kibana, PagerDuty.
