The Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) function plays a crucial role in accelerating SEB's deployment of advanced financial crime prevention capabilities to continuously meet regulatory expectations.

About the Role

As an Operational Intelligence analyst, you will be responsible for proactively identifying financial crime trends and emerging themes that can be used to enhance detection capabilities. You will also apply strong technical knowledge of data systems and regulatory expertise for potential control/risk issues and recommend actions when required.

You will work closely with transaction monitoring, sanctions, and other financial crime functions to manage identified risk & exposure, and drive data science and analytics function in multiple projects for building tactical and strategic controls.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify financial crime trends and emerging themes.
  2. Apply technical knowledge of data systems and regulatory expertise for potential control/risk issues.
  3. Recommend actions to mitigate identified risks.
  4. Manage and execute operational inputs.

For this role, we are looking for an individual who is a self-starter and able to drive engagements in a collaborative and communicative way. A relevant candidate needs to have experience of intelligence-led initiatives, ideally in a multi-business and geographical environment with an understanding of various financial crime schemes and typologies.

Previous experience working in an agile manner across various tribes and domains is appreciated, as well as the ability to overcome complexities and dependencies within individual projects and across multiple portfolios.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Academic degree in IT, Finance, Business, Law or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of structuring large amounts of data/information and various analytical methodological approaches for financial crime prevention.
  • Strong track record of development, production and presentation of data-intensive analysis that are of strategic and/or operational importance.
  • Development of new tactical and strategic controls and driving global transformations across different geographies, business lines, and support teams.
  • Experience in working within financial crime prevention area, such as AML, or fraud investigations, or within a relevant police or state authority in a similar capacity is a big plus.

Fluency in English written and spoken is a prerequisite and knowledge of Swedish, or other Nordic languages, is meriting.
