At Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet, we are committed to advancing sustainable development through science and education. Our Department of Forest Biomaterials and Technology is part of this mission, conducting high-quality research and education on forest biomaterials and technology.
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to our research on sustainable absorbents. The successful candidate will investigate the production of absorbent materials from various relevant feedstock, including by-products from select Nordic industries.
Key responsibilities include working with material preparation and pre-treatments, characterisation of feedstock, the use of bench-scale pyrolysis systems, and analysis of absorbent performance from a variety of wastewater types using laboratory and pilot-scale setups. A major focus of this position is to design and develop greener production methods that enhance the sustainability of absorbent materials from a holistic viewpoint while maintaining their effectiveness.
We require a PhD degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related fields. Previous experience with organic/inorganic sorbents and wastewater treatments is necessary, as well as demonstrated skills in laboratory experimental methods and analysis of results.
