About the Role:In this role, you will work closely with engineers and designers to support the hosting of innovative and engaging content. You will be responsible for investigating service issues, collaborating with designers and engineers to push new content and deploy fixes, digging into source code, reviewing changes for hidden complexities, tracking evidence in logs and server telemetry, and using your eye for reliability to help the team make great decisions.
This role offers the flexibility to work remotely from either Ireland or Sweden, providing an excellent opportunity for those who value work-life balance.
Main Responsibilities:- Create, support, and automate build systems for World of Warcraft, ensuring efficient deployment of server software, data hotfixes, and CI/CD pipelines throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in on-call rotations to resolve live incidents and diagnose software issues on our servers.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure systems scale efficiently, optimize performance, and maintain security measures to safeguard infrastructure.
- Conduct root cause analysis and post-mortem reviews to improve system reliability and prevent future issues.
- 5+ years of software development experience, with expertise in C++ or fluency in an equivalent object-oriented programming language.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a tenacious curiosity for diagnosing issues and using deductive reasoning to pinpoint root causes.
- A reliability-focused mindset, capable of predicting how changes impact customers and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with networking, server design concepts, and system performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
