Job Description

HVDC Supply Chain is seeking a Category Specialist to support strategic sourcing initiatives, collaborating with the global category manager and handling activities requiring agility to transform category strategies into actions. As a Category Expert, you will work collaboratively with the Project team and other internal stakeholders, engage in projects, and execute strategies defined during the Tendering phase.

This role involves supporting strategic sourcing activities, aligned with the category manager; driving RFQs, RFPs for project execution. You will also issue quotation comparison/equalization maps to support purchasing decisions, update costs for project execution against budget targets, and control supplier response times to meet internal demands and schedules.

Maintaining good relationships with suppliers is crucial, ensuring they comply with laws, regulations, standards, certificates, and directives required by Hitachi Energy. You will also support category-related actions on supplier qualification and audits, as well as recovery of supplier-caused claim values, matching claims with reported non-conformities related to Supplier Quality.

Fostering collaboration as a single Hitachi Energy team, working together with the global SCM team of category managers, transactional buyers, logistic planners, and supplier quality engineers is essential to ensure goods and materials are procured, produced, and delivered on time, and with quality to our project sites worldwide.

Requirements

  • An academic degree in a relevant field: BE (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical), Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • An energetic, motivated, and self-confident individual who can manage both ups and downs and resolve problems that may occur.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
