Acoustic Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Acoustic Specialist to join our team at Hitachi Energy's HVDC business unit. As an Acoustic Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing noise propagation and developing mitigations on equipment and plant level.

In this role, you will work in a multidisciplinary technical environment where mechanical, climate, and electrical considerations are necessary as well as cost and quality. You will evaluate acoustics through calculations, modeling, and 3D simulations of noise propagation.

You will also convert theoretical results into reality in actual design suggestions in cooperation with equipment and civil construction responsible. Additionally, you will interpret requirements and available data to evaluate the best way forward from a financial and technical perspective.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate acoustics through calculations, modeling, and 3D simulations of noise propagation.
• Develop and implement mitigations on equipment and plant level.
• Work in a multidisciplinary technical environment considering mechanical, climate, and electrical aspects.
• Convert theoretical results into practical design suggestions.
• Interpret requirements and available data to evaluate the best way forward.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Doctor or Master of Science in Acoustics or a related field.
• Experience with soundPLAN or similar acoustic modeling software is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
