About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated research scientist to join our team at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. As a doctoral student, you will be responsible for conducting research in materials characterization and its connection to physical modeling.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in materials science and engineering, with excellent knowledge of experimental measurements, analysis, and programming skills. The research will focus on developing high-throughput material characterization protocols at large-scale synchrotron and neutron facilities.

You will work in collaboration with partners from academia, research institutes, companies, and large-scale infrastructures to develop new methods and test environments for simulating industrial manufacturing processes. The methodology developed should be material agnostic, and we will apply it to advanced steels, nickel superalloys, and cemented carbide for proof-of-concept.

The doctoral education takes place in collaboration with international partners and will include some travel to various large-scale infrastructures around the world.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of experimental measurements, analysis, and programming skills.
  • Strong background in materials science and engineering.
