About the Accelerator Development Group

You will be working in the Accelerator Development group, a team of experts in the field of accelerators, including accelerator physicists, RF experts, and laser experts. The Accelerator Development team is part of the MAX IV Accelerator Division, responsible for developing and operating all accelerator-based light sources at MAX IV.

About the Job

We are seeking a Magnet Engineer who will be responsible for the system ownership of all accelerator magnets, as well as project and work package leader of several research and development initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the magnet work package for the MAX 4U Project
• Be responsible for the subsystem ownership of all MAX IV accelerator magnet systems (DC and pulsed), including reliability, uptime, and maintenance
• Design, prototype, and test a permanent magnet-based dipole magnet within the RF2.0 project
• Provide support to the operations of the MAX IV accelerator systems

Requirements

• University degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent
• Experience with design, construction, and operation of accelerator magnet systems
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous experience in system ownership
• Previous experience with pulsed magnets
• Project management skills
• Experience with accelerator operation
