Solna Municipality, Sweden Karlstad University Full time
Job Description
Karolinska Institutet seeks a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher in Translational Bioinformatics to contribute to cutting-edge research at the forefront of genomics and bioinformatics. The successful candidate will analyze complex datasets, develop new methodologies, and collaborate with an international team of researchers.

About the Role
The postdoc project aims to elucidate the mechanisms of structural variant formation and evolution in hematological malignancies. By integrating genomic sequencing and bioinformatics tools, we aim to map these variants precisely and understand their structure and mechanisms of formation and role in cancer biology.

Your Mission
You will analyze multiomics data, including whole genome sequencing, Optical Genomic Mapping, Hi-C, and transcriptome sequencing, to detect chromosomal abnormalities and study their breakpoints. Using statistical methods and machine learning, we will explore how these structural variants arise and which recurring structures are formed.

About You
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field. Strong background in bioinformatics, deep learning methodologies, and computer programming is required. Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, as well as good data management and documentation skills, are essential.
