Your Future Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Quality Manager to join our team in Västerås, Sweden. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our deliveries meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and promote Engineering standards throughout the organisation.
  2. Monitor and manage deviations from these standards, implement corrective actions when necessary, and propose improvements where relevant.
  3. Lead and participate in Engineering Quality audits to ensure compliance with established procedures.

Improving Quality Engineering Standards

As an experienced professional, you will contribute to the improvement of Quality Engineering standards by:

  1. Identifying and addressing recurrent issues in project execution.
  2. Leveraging your expertise to lead the Return of Experience (REX) committee and integrate knowledge into Engineering standards and golden rules.

Tender Design Review and Tender Gate Review

You will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Tender Design Review and Tender Gate Review processes, including:

  1. Optimising the DFQ checklist for Engineering deliverables and Design Review.
  2. Implementing REX in the DFQ checklist for Engineering deliverables and the Design Review checklist.
  3. Attending and preparing Tender Gate Reviews and product development.

Quality Assurance of Metier Engineering Deliverables

You will ensure the quality status of Engineering deliverables, including:

  1. Checking the quality status of Engineering deliverables, including REX.
  2. Supporting GR preparation regarding Engineering scope.
  3. Aassing the quality of Engineering Supplier deliverables.
  4. Linking engineering and manufacturing engineering (design for manufacturing).
  5. Deploying process/product FMEA: critical Characteristics.

Efficient Design Reviews

You will make sure Design Reviews are held efficiently by:

  1. Challenging and checking the consistency of the Design Review vs Project Risks.
  2. Making sure Design Reviews are well-prepared and fuelled by the GR process.
  3. Follwing the action plan and updating the Design Review status.

Managing Engineering Quality Issues

You will manage Engineering Quality issues by:

  1. Ensuring the problem-solving process is properly applied and meets objectives.
  2. Engaging the Engineering team in the Customer issue-solving process if needed.
  3. Updating Quality Engineering KPIs and proposing action plans for improvement when necessary.

About You

We value passion and attitude over experience. While a Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent is preferred, we are open to candidates with transferable skills and knowledge. Key requirements include:

  1. Master degree in Engineering (electromechanical, electrical, material, mechanical...) or equivalent.
  2. Experience in managing Quality tools and problem-solving tools.
  3. Knowledge of the railway industry (norms, certifications...), though not essential.
  4. Fluent English, with Swedish being an asset.
