As a Senior Hardware Engineering Manager, you will join our Product & Development team in Stockholm, where you will oversee the engineering lead for Speech Generating Devices and Accessories. Your team will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining hardware products that align with our product strategy.

About the Role:

As a Senior Hardware Engineering Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams of engineers to deliver high-quality hardware products that meet customer needs and comply with industry regulations. You will collaborate with Product Management, UX Design, and Program Management to define and execute the product strategy. Your expertise in medical device regulations and product safety standards such as FDA, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 will be essential in ensuring compliance.

You will manage the hardware development lifecycle from concept through production and post-launch maintenance. Additionally, you will foster a collaborative team culture, mentor team members, and promote continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence. Your strong understanding of the full product lifecycle from design to manufacturing and scaling hardware products will be valuable assets in this role.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain speech-generating devices and accessories
  • Act as the engineering lead for the product area, collaborating with Product Management, UX Design, and Program Management to define and execute the product strategy
  • Manage and approve technical decisions, resource allocations, project plans, and timelines to ensure high-quality product delivery on time and within budget
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 13485, managing risk and delivering reliable medical devices
  • Foster a collaborative team culture, mentor team members, and promote continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering such as Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Software or a related technical field. A Master's degree is preferred but not required. You should have 10+ years in engineering, including 5+ years leading multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, QA), with a track record of delivering hardware products into production. You must have excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly with Product Management, UX Design, and Program Management.
