At Ericsson GmbH, we are committed to advancing the capabilities of 5G/6G baseband system management. Our team is dedicated to specifying the behavior of advanced radio network functions for 5G NR RAN and engaging in 3GPP standardization. We also develop and use simulators to optimize signal processing algorithms, design baseband architectures, collect and analyze data from customer networks, and perform troubleshooting.


Job Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radio Network Systems Engineer to join our team and work on various tasks such as performing systems studies, specifying new 5G/6G system features and functions, developing software simulations, and contributing to advances of 5G/6G Standards.


Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Systems Study: Conduct thorough studies in the area of Radio Physical Layer to ensure the optimal performance of radio functions.
  2. Feature Specification: Define new 5G/6G system features and functions, including requirements, test cases, algorithms, use cases, parameter settings and address any interactions with legacy features and functionality.
  3. Software Simulation: Create software simulations to analyze the performance of 5G features and algorithms, primarily link-level.
  4. Standardization: Participate in the advancement of 5G/6G Standards. Ensure our Statement of Compliance is up-to-date with relevant standards.
  5. Innovation and IPR: Contribute to Innovation and Ericsson IPR. File Invention disclosures and Patents.
  6. Deployment and Support: Assist in the deployment of new 5G/6G products and features into customer networks. Collaborate with Customer troubleshooting and analysis. Understand customer configurations and issues.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional development teams located locally and globally to enhance new features, simulations, and improvements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications theory and digital signal processing, in-depth knowledge of LTE & NR 3GPP specifications, experience in SW development for Link simulations, familiarity with simulation environments and tools, an analytical mindset and result orientation, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage many different projects at once, excellent English skills, and high level of motivation, as well as being a self-starter or a team player as needed.
