Data Centre Operations Manager Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Operations Manager to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a Data Centre Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our data centres, including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a team of engineers and technicians to ensure efficient data centre operations
• Develop and implement performance benchmarks and conduct analyses to improve facility operations
• Oversee the on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors
• Ensure the reliable operation of critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
• Contribute to data centre capacity planning and reporting
• Collaborate with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects and manage capacity
• Deliver high-quality service and meet customer demands
• Manage assets and inventory effectively
• Respond to emergency calls and escalate issues as necessary

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Degree qualification in an applicable engineering discipline (or currently enrolled in one)
• At least 3 years of experience in Data Centre Engineering/Operations
• Experience working on Data Centre Infrastructure; UPS/Generators/Chillers
• High/Low Voltage Authorised Person (AP) experience
