The Chalmers Telegram Group is seeking a highly motivated individual to work in the project "Adaptive Algorithms for Inverse Problems with Applications in Medical Imaging". As a Doctoral student in computational mathematics, you will have the opportunity to develop new adaptive non-local numerical methods for solving multidimensional coefficient inverse problems (MCIPs) and inverse source problems (ISPs).
About the ProjectThe main objective of the project is to develop Carleman estimates to prove global uniqueness of reconstructed parameters in MCIPs and sources in ISPs. This requires a strong background in partial differential equations, numerical analysis, and computational methods.
Responsibilities- Develop new adaptive non-local numerical methods for solving MCIPs and ISPs
- Implement these methods in a programming language such as Python or C++
- Analyze the results and draw conclusions about the performance of the methods
To qualify for this position, you must have obtained a master's degree or a 4-year bachelor's degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematical statistics, or other relevant fields. Good presentation and communication skills in oral and written English are also required.
