The University of Gothenburg is a leading institution in higher education and research, attracting students and researchers from around the world. Our Department of Historical Studies is dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of History, Archaeology, and Classical Archaeology and Ancient History.

We are currently seeking two qualified individuals for doctoral student positions in Archaeology. As a PhD student at our department, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and develop your skills as an independent researcher.

The selected candidates will be expected to conduct original research under the supervision of experienced faculty members. You will work closely with our team to design and implement your research project, which should demonstrate a clear understanding of the field and its current debates.

Our research seminars and other joint activities provide a platform for you to share your ideas and learn from others. You will also have access to our extensive resources and facilities, including archives, museums, and state-of-the-art equipment.

To be eligible for this position, you must have a Master's degree or equivalent in Archaeology or a related field. You should have a strong academic record, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Awarded salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience.
