At Barclays UK, we are seeking a highly skilled Vice President to join our Investment Banking Division in Stockholm, Sweden.

We are a leading global investment bank with a significant Nordic franchise and a strong local presence. Our team works on complex transactions, provides strategic and financial advice, as well as corporate finance solutions across various sectors in the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients, understanding their needs, expectations, and financial goals to deliver relevant investment banking solutions.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong academic background (a minimum of bachelor's degree)
  • Strong relevant Investment Banking (corporate finance/M&A) experience or equivalent
  • Experience with buy-side and sell-side M&A, equity and debt financing transactions
  • Strong analytical background and experience with complex data sets
  • Strong financial modeling skills and experience of building/developing operating models

Some other highly valued skills are:

  • Solid work ethic, initiative, and integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members and leadership qualities
  • Excellent English oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish is beneficial, but not required

This role is deemed a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

The purpose of this role is to build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations, and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.
  • Generation of ideas and identification of opportunities that expand the bank's client base and generate new business opportunities.
  • In-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess their financial health and valuation.
  • Collaboration with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation required for transactions, including contracts and agreements.
  • Collaboration with other teams, such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.

The Vice President is expected to advise key stakeholders, manage and mitigate risks, demonstrate leadership and accountability, and collaborate with other areas of work to achieve business objectives.
