We are looking for a skilled Workplace Hazard Specialist to join our team. As a representative of the Safety and Security department, you will work closely with individual operating units at our Boden location to ensure a safe working environment. You will support the organization with work environment and safe & effective operations across a specific area within the organization.

The ideal candidate will have relevant industrial experience and/or a Bachelor's degree, supplemented with training. They should have knowledge of safety legislation and industry best practices, as well as experience developing digital tools to support key safety processes. Training/certification in Incident Investigations and experience in ISO 45001 are highly valued.

About the Role

As a Workplace Hazard Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting hazard identification and risk assessments to minimize risks and ensure effective controls are implemented. You will review operations to identify potential hazards and implement required control measures. You will also develop, update, and provide input for standard operating procedures and related documentation to maintain safety standards.

You will support temporary work areas, ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials, and advise on workplace hazards to improve safety practices. Additionally, you will investigate workplace accidents and safety incidents, conduct risk evaluations and inspections, and drive improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments to minimize risks and ensure effective controls are implemented.

  2. Review operations to identify potential hazards and implement required control measures.

  3. Develop, update, and provide input for standard operating procedures and related documentation to maintain safety standards.

  4. Support temporary work areas, ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials, and advise on workplace hazards to improve safety practices.

  5. Investigate workplace accidents and safety incidents, conduct risk evaluations and inspections, and drive improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Relevant industrial experience and/or a Bachelor's degree, supplemented with training.

  • Experience from work environment/safety work, preferably in heavy industries.

  • Knowledge of safety legislation and industry best practices.

  • Experience developing digital tools to support and streamline key safety processes.

  • Training/certification in Incident Investigations.

  • Experience in ISO 45001.
