Beamline Scientist at RIXS Laboratory

We are seeking a highly skilled Beamline Scientist to join our team at the MAX IV Laboratory, a world-renowned research facility hosted by Lund University. As a Beamline Scientist, you will play a key role in the development and operation of our RIXS beamline, working closely with our team of experts to advance scientific research and innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute your own scientific research projects, leveraging the capabilities of our RIXS beamline and collaborating with user groups.
- Participate in the commissioning, support, development, and maintenance of the beamline and endstations, working closely with the RIXS team.
- Contribute to the development of new sample environments and experimental techniques, collaborating with the entire RIXS team.
- Provide expert support and guidance to user groups, ensuring their research projects are successful and productive.
- PhD degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience working with ultrahigh vacuum instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge and experience of performing experiments in condensed matter physics using synchrotron-based RIXS, ARPES, or neutron scattering techniques.
- Experience designing, building, and commissioning complex scientific instrumentation or writing control and data acquisition software is highly desirable.
- Experience in user support at synchrotrons.
- Software development skills.
- Experience with design and simulation software (e.g., Solidworks, Comsol).
