The Role

Join our diverse and highly skilled anti-fraud team, tasked with developing the essential tools for fraud prevention across the largest marketplaces in the Nordics. We foster an inclusive and dynamic work environment where your contributions truly matter. As we transition to Schibsted Nordic Market Places, your role as a developer will significantly influence our project directions. Our team offers numerous exciting technology tracks, allowing you to deepen your expertise in areas such as ML/AI, advanced frontend technologies, and distributed microservice architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the event-driven platform that serves as the core of our fraud-prevention tools.
  • Lead or collaborate in enhancing our innovative ML technology stack.
  • Design and architect systems that scale effortlessly and adapt to changing needs.
  • Improve software quality by implementing industry best practices.
  • Inspire our teams by sharing your creative ideas to accelerate our progress.

Our Technology

Our technology stack is built on a highly distributed micro-service architecture with numerous decoupled services, empowering our teams to make independent tech decisions. In the fraud team, most of our services are developed using Java or Kotlin, with additional deployments in Go, Python, C#, and a few in Haskell.

To ensure smooth deployment and scalability, we utilize Google Cloud and AWS, deploying our services through Docker and Kubernetes. For efficient inter-service communication, we use Kafka as our asynchronous messaging system.

Your Profile

We are looking for an experienced developer with a foundational understanding of ML and other emerging AI technologies. You should be capable of independently leading the development of new features and enjoy engaging in discussions about code and solutions with your colleagues. A passion for knowledge sharing and a curiosity to continuously learn are essential.

Desired Skills

  • Practical experience in Kotlin or Java backend development, with familiarity in the Spring-Boot framework.
  • A strong interest in Machine Learning techniques and other emerging AI technologies.
  • Experience in developing distributed systems within a micro-service architecture.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures such as Kafka or Google Pub/Sub.
  • A collaborative spirit, with a passion and adaptability to learn new tools and skill sets.
