Job Title: Data Migration Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Developer to join our team for a nearshoring opportunity with a leading telco in Sweden.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop data migration scripts and processes using PL/SQL to ensure efficient and accurate data transfer.
  • Implement ETL processes to cleanse, transform, and validate data as part of the migration process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and source/target systems.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and ETL workflows.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data migration processes, including data mappings and transformation rules.
  • Participate in testing and executing the migration as part of the cutover process.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the migration process by performing data validation and reconciliation activities.
  • Utilize AWS services and tools, such as AWS Glue, AWS Data Migration Service, or Amazon Redshift, to facilitate data migration and integration tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data migration, including data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system errors.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in data migration, ETL development, and cloud computing to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and cross-training activities to foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Migration Developer or similar role, with a strong background in PL/SQL scripting and ETL development.
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for data manipulation and transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with data migration projects, including data extraction, cleansing, and loading activities.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and tools, such as AWS Glue, AWS Data Migration Service, Amazon Redshift, or similar technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions within established timelines.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies is a plus.
  • Certification in AWS or relevant technologies is desirable but not required.
