Job Description

Verisk is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing the monthly financial close process for our Swedish business units, ensuring all revenues and costs are properly recorded and balance sheet accounts are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll-forwards for Swedish business units.
  • Own reconciliation between the local accounting system and Corporate systems.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the Sweden Balance Sheets.
  • Identify and maintain reconciliation of US GAAP differences concerning Swedish GAAP.
  • Interact with the business unit finance and wider Corporate Accounting to produce a timely, efficient and accurate month-end close.
  • Prepare detailed account analyses as part of the month-end close.
  • Collaborate with external statutory auditors and Corporate Statutory Reporting Team to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Work with Corporate Tax team to support local tax filings.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment.
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional audit firm experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Swedish GAAP and financial reporting requirements is essential.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP rules beneficial.
  • Experience working in an international organization required.
  • Effective documentation, teamwork, and communication skills are required.
  • Large ERP experience (with Oracle Fusion a plus).
  • Experience of Business Central (required), Visma Online & Exflow beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively both with local business units and with US/UK controllership.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to self-review, and sense of ownership.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; set goals, establish priorities, utilize available resources and plan work to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Effective documentation, teamwork and communication skills are required.

Skills/Education:

  • Degree in Accounting required.
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred.
  • Fluency in both English and Swedish required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
