We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our research group at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will be involved in protein design applied to terpene biosynthesis, with a focus on developing protein-based catalysts for selective transformations.
The project is funded by the European Union (HORIZON-TMA-MSCA-DN) and involves international research collaborations. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge biotechnology and enzyme design techniques.
Our research aims to expand nature's current repertoire with respect to selective biosynthesis of terpenes. You will be part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment, working closely with experts in synthetic biology and biocatalysis.
Responsibilities- Design and develop novel enzymes for terpene biosynthesis
- Collaborate with international research groups and participate in joint research projects
- Conduct experiments and data analysis using advanced biotechnology techniques
- Publish research findings in top-tier scientific journals
- MSc degree in Biocatalysis, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Experience in molecular biology, protein design, and analytical chemistry
- Strong understanding of synthetic biology and enzyme engineering principles
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
