Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective compliance programs, monitoring regulatory developments, and providing guidance on compliance-related matters.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing effective compliance programs to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and legislative initiatives within relevant areas of law, providing guidance and recommendations to senior management.
  • Providing compliance guidance and support to employees and stakeholders, ensuring they understand their compliance obligations and responsibilities.
  • Conducting internal and third-party compliance and due diligence trainings, educating employees and stakeholders on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Spearheading a culture of compliance and integrity within the organization, promoting a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential compliance issues.
  • Collaborating with divisional Compliance Officers and other Group functions on various compliance-related topics, ensuring consistency and alignment across the organization.
  • Providing operational support to Group Center functions and occasionally to divisions, as needed.
  • Assisting in responding to surveys and inquiries from lenders and other key stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as law or a related discipline.
  • At least ten years of professional experience, preferably in a compliance or legal role.
  • Several years of prior experience working at a reputable law firm with international reach, with expertise in compliance and regulatory affairs.
  • Experience working in an in-house legal or compliance role for an international group of companies, with a strong understanding of global compliance regulations.
  • Significant experience working with two or more areas of compliance within the scope of this role, with a proven track record of success.
  • A background in compliance due diligence and investigations, with expertise in conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication abilities and a talent for influencing others.
  • Able to motivate and influence others, with a strong ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Pays attention to details, with a high level of accuracy and precision.
  • Awareness of internal controls and governance, with a strong understanding of risk management principles.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong English language proficiency is required; additional languages, particularly Swedish, are advantageous.
