We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our Global Services team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Job Description:

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing the infrastructure that supports our customers' applications and services. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of our infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

The successful candidate will contribute to major new innovations in the area of building controls and automation. They will also work individually and as part of a team to develop new products, support existing products, test, and evaluate equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical and Control System Understanding: The Controls Engineer must have a strong understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, and industrial HVAC systems.
  2. Customer Needs Assessment: The candidate will assess customer needs to develop scope and specifications for infrastructure solutions.
  3. Scope Management: The Controls Engineer will manage the scope of work relative to site specifics and customer needs.
  4. Implementation and Testing: The candidate will read and interpret specifications and implement them as they apply to the work environment. They will also perform inspections, testing, and commissioning of facility systems.
  5. Technical Assistance: The Controls Engineer will provide technical assistance to internal customers.
  6. Project Coordination: The candidate will coordinate work internally and externally to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget.
  7. Vendor Management: The Controls Engineer will manage service contracts with vendors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Stakeholder Management: The Controls Engineer must be able to manage multiple concurrent stakeholder deliverables, requirements, and navigate difficult situations.
  2. Product Experience: The candidate should have experience with installation, configuration, or servicing of various products, including Siemens, Honeywell, Trend, Schneider Electric, Rockwell Automation, Tridium, Eaton, ABB, and Johnson Controls.
  3. Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or related field, or 5+ years of related experience is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Engineering Documentation: The Controls Engineer should have a demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  2. Budgeting and Financial Management: The candidate should have demonstrated experience developing and justifying budgets, and managing financial performance.
  3. Performance Specifications: The Controls Engineer should have demonstrated experience developing, managing, or validating performance specifications and requirements.
