**Responsibilities:**- Develop and implement secure infrastructure configurations for our HVDC Control and Protection systems.
- Drive the improvement of our overall security posture by implementing best practices and industry standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for projects requiring guidance on cybersecurity activities and adherence.
- Assist with gate reviews and checklists related to cybersecurity activities.
- Oversee release clearance activities, including CSAC and Code Signing Certifications.
- Participate in security testing to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed before release.
- Perform product hardening to enable only necessary functions for operation.
- Implement group policies, install, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, routers, and firewalls.
- Develop, evaluate, and implement security policies and procedures, create technical documentation and reports, and participate in customer meetings.
- Design and implement gateway security layouts, install and harden firewall security.
- Monitor and validate third-party security patches to ensure system reliability is maintained.
- Implement host-based security technologies, such as antivirus, data leakage prevention, host IPS, and whitelisting.
- Install and manage network-based intrusion detection products.
- Understand and implement system backup strategies and technologies.
- Create automated scripts using Bat/.Vbs/PowerShell/Perl and Python to optimize regular work and act efficiently in daily activities.
- May temporarily or permanently take on the role of Product Security Engineer for MACH Software Operations division.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- Work authorization permitting employment with Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Knowledge in defense in depth, default deny, least privilege, compartmentalization, privileged initiation, RBAC, etc.
- Good understanding of basic cybersecurity controls, such as IDS/IPS (host and network), hardening, security policies, malware protection, filtering, NGFW, etc.
- Knowledge in networking, patch management, industrial protocols like DNP/MODBUS/IEC 61850, PRP, etc.
- Hands-on experience with protocols like HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, SSH, ICMP, DHCP, L2TP, PPTP, DNS, SNMP, RDP, and NTP, Windows and Virtual Machine Administration.
- Experience with security tools like NMAP, Nessus, Wireshark, etc.
- Knowledge on security standards like IEC 62443, ISO 27001.
- Experience with network equipment (firewalls, switches, GPS clocks) and redundant network designs/protocols.
- Experience with Microsoft client and server operating systems from legacy to current generations.
- Experience with Active Directory and its different roles, integration with third-party devices and appliances.
- Experience with databases and high availability solutions.
- Experience with port, vulnerability, and malware scanners, able to digest and communicate the output.
- Knowledge of intrusion detection systems, security information event monitoring, application control, and other security-relevant systems.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is required.
