The European Spallation Source (ESS) is a leading international research organization dedicated to advancing neutron science and its applications.
As part of our mission, we are seeking an experienced Information Security Officer to join our team in Lund, Sweden.
This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of our security capabilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead operational security capabilities, including monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer to develop and implement security plans and controls.
- Stay up-to-date with external threats and emerging risks to ensure the protection of ESS against cyber threats.
- Participate in planning, procurement, and system development activities to ensure appropriate security requirements are managed.
- Coordinate and participate in internal audits to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Consult and advise on information security requirements and activities across the organization.
- Support information security awareness campaigns and trainings to promote a culture of security within ESS.
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a university degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
You should have at least five years of experience in information security, with a proven track record of leading incident response actions and investigations, performing risk assessments, and developing security standards and procedures.
Familiarity with enterprise IT systems and security tooling, including endpoint protection, network monitoring solutions, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, email protection, and other services, is highly desirable.
Fluency in English is a requirement, as it is the primary language used within ESS. Fluency in Swedish is an asset, as it will facilitate communication with Swedish authorities and law enforcement.
