At Autoliv Sweden, we are working with early phases of innovation. Our focus is to bring life-saving innovations to mobility and society – driving and enabling new growth for Autoliv by transforming markets. We do this in cross-functional teams and in close cooperation with Autoliv Research, which is also located on-site. We also have unique testing and prototype facilities, which are essential to our innovation efficiency and precision.

We are now looking for a Mechanical Engineer to expand our mechatronic team in Vårgårda.

About the role You will join as a Development Engineer in a team that is working with innovation in its early phases for cross-product line projects and strategic projects within the mechatronic area. This means that we mainly have two types of projects:

- Idea evaluations
- Advanced engineering studies

When conducting idea evaluations, the input to the team is ideas, and the output is a recommendation. The tools used are rapid prototyping to enable quick iterations and ensure an efficient and robust workflow. When conducting advanced engineering studies, the input is an evaluated idea, and the output is a technical advancement and a more technically mature concept. The tools involve increased technical complexity and systems engineering.

As we are a broad and multidisciplinary team that aims to construct and evaluate early concepts together, you will have room to grow and learn from others.

About you We believe that you are not afraid to take your own initiatives and have a fail-fast approach. We also believe that you are a great team player and curious about the holistic perspective. You likely have a background in Mechanical Engineering and have solid experience in the field. You are not afraid to come up with design ideas and like to work hands-on with the concepts. As we are working in the early phases of innovation of advanced technologies, we believe you enjoy working with prototyping and testing.

We believe it is beneficial for candidates to possess one or more of the relevant experiences listed below:

- Rapid prototyping and early concept development of advanced technologies in the mechatronic area
- Testing and test methods
- Mechatronic system development
- Safety-critical systems
- Solid experience in CAD, preferably CATIA
- M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Swedish language skills are a merit.
- B driver's license
