Role description We are looking for a Backend Engineer with solid experience in Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot and microservice architectures to support the development of a modern digital ecosystem. In this role, you will design, build and maintain scalable, cloud-ready microservices, deliver robust integrations and APIs, and ensure secure and reliable DevSecOps practices across the platform. You will work closely with domain experts and other stakeholders in a dynamic environment that requires the ability to handle shifting priorities. Responsibilities - Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java or Kotlin and the Spring Boot ecosystem. - Build and evolve a scalable microservice landscape, including APIs and system integrations. - Implement secure, cloud-ready microservices with focus on performance, reliability and maintainability. - Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines with appropriate security controls, automation and quality gates. - Work with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for deployment and runtime operations. - Evaluate, implement and improve logging, monitoring and observability tooling to ensure high availability. - Collaborate with domain experts and product stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions. - Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design in the backend and integration landscape. - Produce clear and structured technical documentation for services, integrations and platform components. - Actively contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and best practices in the team. Requirements - Professional experience working with Java or Kotlin and the Spring Boot ecosystem. - Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, event-driven patterns and API design. - Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tooling. - Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). - Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP). - Understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts and practices. - Ability to work with and implement logging, monitoring and observability tooling. - Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. - Strong collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional teams. - Curious, proactive mindset and willingness to contribute beyond your core responsibilities when needed. Meriting - Experience working with or integrating low-code platforms. - Experience from complex, distributed environments with many interacting services. - Experience with DevSecOps practices and security by design in microservice architectures.
