Your role and responsibilities
We are now searching for a R&D Testing Specialist to join our experienced and skilled team in Västerås. In this role, you will be working in ABB´s new high-power laboratory for low-voltage products. Beyond taking part of varying and exiting test assignments and following up the product certification according to the different standard, you will have a strong voice in the laboratory evolution when it comes to its future capacity and operation along with developing your personal profession within our global company.
This role reports to the Laboratory Manager at ABB’s Low Voltage Laboratory in Västerås, Sweden.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- You will be part of an experienced team and perform high power electrical testing, mainly on contactors and softstarters.
- You will be responsible for test assignments including planning of the test, safety responsibilities, perform load calculation and circuit calibration, execution of the tests and reporting.
- You will work closely with R&D engineers, product managers and quality department to define the best test plan and certification plan to achieve the different project goal.
- You will perform both experimental testing as part of product development and type testing for product certification.
- Together with the laboratory manager you will be involved in the laboratory operation, both from a safety and functional perspective.
Qualifications for the role
- You minimum hold Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- You are curious an open to find and propose new way to improve efficiency.
- You are problem solving oriented and think out of the box to define innovative solutions.
- You enjoy working independently as much as in team.
- You contribute to the business development and have a high integrity when it comes to health and safety.
- You naturally feel strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication in following all relevant workplace safety
- guidelines.
- Experience in low voltage product standard and High-power lab is a plus.
- Good communication skills in English, written and spoken alike, is a requirement. Knowledge in Swedish is a bonus
