Let's introduce ourselves

In Volvo Cars’ Central PR and Comms Team, the pace is high and as part of our global communications team, we are in daily contact with media around the world as well as in our markets and regions, senior leaders of the company and other stakeholders. At the same time, we develop and execute on long-term communication strategies. You will therefore need to work both efficiently and independently, but also as an integrated member of the PR and communications team.

What you'll do

In this role you will develop and implement a 360-degree communication strategy that supports the company's goals and vision. This includes creating a Corporate Communications strategy aligned with the global organization and Volvo Car Sweden’s (VCS) business focus. You will work with the VCS leadership team to execute executive visibility programs, ensuring close alignment with Global corporate communications.
You will lead a team of five communication professionals, ensuring effective internal communication and strong relationships with retailers and subsidiary partners. Collaboration with other teams will ensure consistency in messaging and strategies. You will work closely with the marketing team to reinforce Volvo Cars’ market position in Sweden through engaging communication. Active participation in operational work will ensure communication efforts are executed effectively and on time. Your role will add value to the global long-term strategy and VCS’ commercial goals. You will contribute to a customer-centric approach, develop a crisis communications strategy, and manage the budget with analytical reporting.


What you'll bring

We’re looking for a communications specialist to lead the Communications Team at Volvo Car Sweden. Since this is a crucial role in one of Volvo Cars’ home market – and one of its most strategic and important markets in Europe, it’s essential that this person has an eye for identifying, developing, and communicating impactful stories by creating multi-channel strategies across internal and external communications, to deliver on the company’s communication priorities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for driving the corporate communications strategy, which will include working closely with the managing director to gain visibility and build trust in the media in Sweden. You will also be a trusted advisor on all matters relating to communication and staying on top of current affairs and industry developments is a must.

Qualifications 
* Relevant experience within corporate and internal communications
* Strategic corporate communications experience at C-suite/senior executive level
* A thorough understanding of the complex interplay between business and policy, as well as matters concerning the financials of the company 
* Experience in working with communications in a retail context is valuable as well as experience in a company with a global presence
* You have good ability to build networks with internal and external stakeholders as well as being a great communicator both orally and in writing
* Speak and write fluently both Swedish and English
