Integration Specialist / Integration Developer Role description We are looking for an Integration Specialist / Integration Developer to support projects by setting up and configuring integrations through an existing integration layer. The role is a mix of communication and technical configuration, where you work closely with customer teams to understand their needs and translate them into robust, scalable integration solutions. You will make use of reusable components rather than build everything from scratch, which requires solid Java and integration platform experience. Responsibilities - Configure and set up integrations using the organisation’s integration layer and reusable components. - Collaborate closely with customer teams to understand integration needs and translate them into concrete solutions. - Ensure that integration designs follow established best practices, security guidelines and architectural principles. - Work with API Management and/or Apache Kafka for integration flows and messaging. - Use GitHub Actions and Ansible Tower to automate deployment, configuration and operational tasks. - Work with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Kubernetes clusters in day-to-day integration operations. - Use PostgreSQL for data access and configuration-related tasks. - Contribute to monitoring and observability using tools such as Splunk, Fluent Bit and Helm charts. - Perform basic testing and validation of integration solutions before handover. - Collaborate with other integration and platform teams to continuously improve ways of working. (Approximate role split: ~40% communication, 40% configuration, 10% testing, 10% Java development.) Requirements - 2–4 years of hands-on experience with API Management and/or Apache Kafka. - 3–5 years of experience working with Java. - Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL. - Proficiency in GitHub Actions and Ansible Tower for automation. - Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and solid understanding of Kubernetes clusters. - Familiarity with Linux and WSL environments. - Knowledge of Splunk, Fluent Bit and Helm charts. - Strong communication skills and ability to gather and clarify integration requirements from customer teams. - Comfortable in a role focused on integration configuration and coordination rather than architecture or pure software development. - Fluency in English, spoken and written. Meriting - Experience working in integration departments or integration platform teams. - Experience with Angular and JavaScript. - Experience with Bash scripting. - Experience from larger, complex organisations or regulated environments (e.g. finance, telecom, public sector). - Experience working in cross-functional, agile teams.
