Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who is passionate about solving complex problems, pushing the boundaries of game analytics, driving meaningful impact through data-driven insights, and who wants to roll up their sleeves and dig deep into the data.

Your role within the Kingdom

As a Senior Data Scientist in the Candy Crush Soda Saga team, you will develop innovative ways to optimize our levels, and discover opportunities to enhance player engagement and revenue. You'll partner with product and other stakeholders to leverage data in creative ways, influencing key decisions that shape the future of the game.

Specifically, you will

1. Work closely with product teams throughout the development process and conduct both exploratory and confirmatory analysis.
2. Design and execute A/B tests that measure the impact of interventions. Ensure correct data collection for meaningful and precise analysis.
3. Optimize our levels: Use data analysis and modeling to optimize game levels, identifying new opportunities to optimise for growth and player engagement through experimentation, modeling, and deep-dive analysis.
4. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, ensuring that data is tracked and analyzed effectively for decision-making. Ensure data-driven initiatives are clearly connected to business value and strategic objectives.
5. Methodology & Tooling: Contribute to the development of methodologies and tools that enhance data science capabilities across King.

Skills that will help you thrive in this role include:

1. Analytical & Statistical Expertise: Strong ability to choose and adapt models based on the task at hand. Strong statistical and probabilistic intuition, with the capacity to identify when simple or complex solutions are appropriate.
2. Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
- Experience with tools like Looker, Shiny, Streamlit, GitHub, Docker and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure is a plus.
3. Data Science & Experimentation:
- The ability to understand and apply relevant statistical and/or machine learning techniques. Strong knowledge of probability theory and Bayesian statistics.
- Expertise in designing and interpreting A/B tests to measure product changes and assess player response is a plus.
4. Communication & Business Impact: Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders. A collaborative mindset, with a focus on connecting data science outcomes to business objectives.
5. A passion for analytics and driving data-driven decision making. Enthusiasm for gaming and a curiosity about player behavior.
