We are building a new team to support this journey, and one of the primary responsibilities for this team will be web and mobile app tracking and tag management. This is both to enable the marketing team to execute on as effective and engaging content as possible. But also the same for the whole organisation to be able to do improvements and optimisations all over the websites and mobile app. The team will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining a new marketing automation and personalisation tool.

About the role

As an experienced Tracking Specialist, you will have a very important role to guide the team on how to configure and maintain our server side tracking setup for our website and mobile app. The team’s responsibility goes from collection script in the clients, via server side tag management, all the way to storage and data processing in our data mesh.

On a day to day basis, the team will engage in tracking related tasks like

  • Configure, optimise and maintain our GCP server-side tracking solution, to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
  • Implement collection script libraries to be used by feature developers.
  • Configure Google Tag Manager server side tags to funnel tracking events to multiple upstream target data processors, e.g ingest to Google BigQuery, publish to PubSub topics to our services and 3rd party integrations.
  • Create data models and transformations to make sure the tracking data can be consumed by analysts.
  • Collaborate with the Legal and Compliance departments to make sure the tracking adheres to data privacy and bank regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to developer teams on tag implementation and usage.
  • Perform regular monitoring and troubleshooting of data connections and especially of server-side tracking implementations, addressing any issues or discrepancies.

There is a need for the candidate to also have strong experience in data engineering.

 

The team is part of the Data & Insights department at Nordnet, and consists of Data Engineers and BI Engineers. We collaborate closely with Marketing, Analysts, Data Scientists and development teams.

You are a very experienced tracking specialist, who is passionate about data, and the opportunities it provides. You want to contribute with your experience and knowledge. Collaboration and discussing ideas and concepts with your cross functional colleagues are things you enjoy and believe are important in order to build great products.

As a tracking specialist you
  • Have a minimum 5+ years of experience working with and implementing tag management systems.
  • Strong proficiency and experience in the field of Server Side Tracking
  • Have proven experience in implementing custom tracking collection scripts.
  • Deep knowledge on how to process and transform data into a data warehouse (e.g. BigQuery).
  • Have previously worked with a cloud environment, preferably GCP
  • Have good knowledge of Javascript, Python and SQL
  • Are a problem solver – if you need an answer you will find it
  • Enjoy pair/mob programming
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technological fields.

Other than the above, the following would be a plus if you have:

  • Knowledge of Data Mesh
  • Experience with tech like dbt and Looker
  • Are comfortable working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), DevOps and CI/CD
  • Bank and Finance experience
