About the position

As Manager of Product Engineering, you will become a part of the operations department and you are the operational leader and personnel manager of the Product engineering group consisting of six coworkers. Each Product engineer is technical owner of the products delivered to Coherent’s customers around the world. To succeed in the position, you are driven by problem-solving, and your greatest strength lies in your unwavering focus on your team since you understand that their growth and well-being are essential to achieving any goal.

Primary duties of the Product engineering group

• Ensuring that products a produced to the best possible cost and performance.
• Monitoring performance on released products.
• Responsible for defining and driving a systematic procedure to identify, prioritize and eliminating re-occurring quality related problems.
• Drive continuous improvement on release products.
• Ensuring that new products are received to production when manufacturing readiness is achieved.
• Managing:
  • Product configuration in production, changes and consolidations, product set-up and part numbers.
  • Product follow-ups across manufacturing sites.
  • Wafer certification process across manufacturing sites.
  • Product performance analysis and feedback to Fab and Test

Education, experience and personal characteristics

• Background and solid understanding of high-tech engineering and production
• Relevant managerial experience
• Relevant technical educational background or similar work experience
• Fluent in English
• Meritorious with knowledge in Swedish
