Porcupine (35-60) any gender: An individual with zero regard for social convention, and a desperate desire to be seen as intelligent. They enjoy blowing minds with their rudimentary knowledge of 19th century philosophy. They desperately want the hedgehog to find them appealing. Ideally a UK, Irish, South African, Southern US, German, or Australian accent.

Hedgehog (20-30) Female: Is a young woman with a clearly defined sense of self and little tolerance for fools. She enjoys reading the classics and going to punk rock shows. She would just like to be left alone while she is reading in public.

Galatea (18-35) Female: Is a statue that has recently come to life. She desperately wants to understand the purpose of her existence, make human connections, and avoid being stabbed. A silent role with a strong emphasis on physicality.

Pygmalion (18-35) Male: Is a sculptor who always found himself disappointed in humans and their, well, humanness. The classical Greece equivalent of an incel. His sculpture has recently come to life, and he would like to become romantically involved with it. Without being stabbed. A silent role with a strong emphasis on physicality.

Hi

Its time for us students at Stockholms Film School to produce our exam short-film The Hedgehogs Dilemma. This is the last and most extensive project we will be doing in this course.

What is the project about?

The Hedgehogs Dilemma is about a young woman who is reading Kierkegaard on a park bench when an intruder breaks a social contract - sitting too close to a stranger. When the intruder starts talking about transcendental idealism, the young woman engages them in a battle of wills.
