Industrial Optimizers is a leading developer of advanced software solutions aimed primarily at the global transport sector, including airlines, airports, rail operators and bus companies. Our global network of clients uses our tools to plan and optimize their operation and make fact-based decisions that affect their bottom lines.

Our innovative team comprises specialists in IT, mathematics, software development and experienced professionals in transportation.

Responsibilities

For our data processing and software development roles, we need a person with proven analytical skills and a strong working knowledge of software development including good programming skills. All members of Industrial Optimizers' development team are included in our Support services team and a successful candidate would be expected to also be included in the team, so any experience with customer support activities would be considered as a bonus for the applicant.

The work you would be expected to do includes:

  • The running and monitoring of large-scale data processing services
  • Involvement in all software development tasks including design, programming, and testing
  • Inclusion in Customer Support activities such as being in the Support Team, being on-call and able to understand and solve such issues that may arise, even those of a technical nature
Requirements

A good command of the English language is required, as we have most customers outside of Sweden. The position is in Stockholm and requires shift work as the processing and support services are carried out 24/7.

Required Skills
  • Managing large scale server processing
  • An interest in Software development from the design to completion stages
  • Understanding of the Software Development life-cycle
  • Programming skills
  • Knowledge and experience in computer hardware
  • Knowledge and understanding of:
    • Operating systems
    • Virtual environments (such as MS Azure or AWS)
    • IT Networks
    • IT Security as well as Cyber Security
    • Web applications and mobile apps
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Database management experience
    • Python, Matlab, SQL or similar analysis/development tools

You have a background either in, or working with, one or more transport providers in the aviation or rail or shipping or bus sector. You will have knowledge about transportation and logistics.

You are prepared to travel and are a team player who enjoys working closely with both colleagues and clients with international backgrounds. You can also work independently and manage your time and tasks effectively.
