Job Overview

Hitachi Energy is looking for an Environmental Specialist to join the Composites team in Piteå. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with internal and external environmental regulations, supporting sustainability initiatives and driving ISO14001 implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor environmental permits, notification activities and ensure compliance with the Environmental Code and other regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the company’s point of contact with supervisory authorities, municipalities and other stakeholders on environmental matters.
  • Drive and coordinate the reporting of environmental data, key performance indicators and mandatory reports to internal systems and authorities.
  • Lead and support work related to chemical management, chemical risk assessments, and ensure compliance with internal requirements and legislation.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the company’s environmental management system in accordance with ISO14001.
  • Lead improvement initiatives in waste management, resource efficiency, emission reduction and sustainable production.
  • Train and coach managers and employees on environmental requirements, risks and sustainable practices.

Qualifications

  • University education in environmental studies or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with environmental compliance, ISO standards, sustainability, hazardous waste and chemicals.
  • Experience driving and coordinating environmental processes.
  • Good understanding of incident management, risk assessments and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to coach, train and support managers and employees in environmental matters.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, written and spoken.
