Your roleBackground:The potential for Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) to support Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes is vast, yet currently underutilized at Saab. We aim to explore how these technologies can enhance PLM at Saab Surveillance and showcase their practical applications.
Thesis Objectives:
- Conduct an investigation into Saab's current use of AR and VR.
- Explore successful AR/VR implementations for PLM in other industries.
- Experiment with integrating AR/VR technologies into Saab's existing PLM tools, such as Siemens NX and Siemens Teamcenter.
- Assess the potential future applications of AR/VR for improving PLM workflows.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of PLM at Saab. This involves conducting a detailed literature review, designing and performing practical tests using AR/VR headsets, and presenting your findings in a comprehensive report. Your work will be instrumental in identifying innovative ways to apply these technologies to Saab's operations.
Your profileWe are looking for master's students pursuing degrees in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Human-Machine Interface (or related fields). Your academic background should provide a solid foundation for tackling challenges in both technology and system integration.
- A strong analytical mindset and a passion for exploring emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with or interest in PLM tools like Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Good communication skills and the ability to document and present findings effectively.
