Snowprint Studios is looking for an Art Director. This is your opportunity to work with competent industry experts on a prestigious, multiple finalist and award-winning team and strategy game.

In this role, you'll define and drive the artistic direction of our games, ensuring a cohesive and inspiring visual style. You'll work closely with artists, designers, and developers to bring our creative vision to life while balancing aesthetics with gameplay. With strong leadership and communication skills, you'll mentor the art team, provide clear direction, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Your ability to make thoughtful decisions, stay curious, and push creative boundaries will help shape the future of our games.

As a game creator in a small, nimble team, you deeply believe that great games are built through teamwork, valuing every voice, and thrive on collaborative problem-solving. You'll contribute to all aspects of development—from gameplay and tech to marketing—while crafting game art hands-on. You'll foster a creative environment for both the internal art team and external partners, collaborate with our publisher to shape the game's brand and marketing, and refine the game through playtesting and discussions with artists, designers, and programmers.

To succeed in this role, we think you have…

  • Many years of experience in game development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • An exceptional portfolio showcasing expertise in art direction, visual storytelling, and game aesthetics.
  • Fluent in tools like Maya and Adobe Photoshop (or equivalent 3D and 2D programs).
  • Experience in taking a game from napkin drawings to launch in an Art Director or Lead Artist role.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to guide and inspire the team.
  • The ability to take ownership, make informed creative decisions, and drive projects forward.
  • A deep passion for games and an understanding of their artistic and technical challenges.

Nice-to-have

  • Professional experience in Unity or other game engines.
  • Experience developing mobile games.
  • Good understanding of the mobile platforms and games market.
  • A solid foundation in traditional art.
  • A track record of mentoring and developing artists to reach their full potential.
  • A curiosity-driven mindset, always exploring new artistic and technical innovations.

About Snowprint Studios
