Technical R&D Director - EMEA

Do you have an understanding of customer needs, and can you transform issues into business opportunities? Then we might have an opening for you At Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, we're currently looking for a Technical R&D Director to join us in our EMEA region.

R&D is the soul of our work, as we deliver cutting-edge products and solutions to our customers worldwide. Joining us, you get to work with an outstanding team of engaged and proficient peers and employees, in a diverse setting where collaboration and flexibility really matter. Fairness, equal opportunities, and an all-inclusive approach always pervade our actions, and we constantly have our eyes on ground-breaking ideas and bold creativity.

Your Mission

In this position, you're a crucial player in our global R&D work for Ground Support. You support commercial teams by acting as our technical advisor when approaching new or existing customers, promoting value selling and profitable sales growth. You take ownership in developing material and forums to ensure that we have sufficient understanding of the current and future product offerings – commercial and technical. Day-to-day support on different technical topics is part of your job. Together with relevant stakeholders across the regional organization, you develop new concepts, elaborate, coordinate, and manage the EMEA engineering and R&D roadmap.

You're an active member of the Ground Support Divisional technical team, ensuring that EMEA is aligned and supportive of the global strategy and its implementation. In this role, you will be expected to travel circa twice a month. The location for this position is flexible.

About You

We're looking for someone with a master's degree in engineering or a related field. You have a very good understanding of underground mining and tunneling technologies through previous experience in the industry. We believe that you have exposure to different types of rock mechanics and ground support products and hold an existing professional network in the mining and tunneling industry. Your previous assignment has given you a deep understanding of basic supplier-customer relationships as well as sales and marketing and business administration. Proven experience working in matrix structures is a must. Acting in a global environment calls for excellent skills in English, verbally and in writing.

We're fascinated by your personality, characterized by your analytical and critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. With your good and humble leadership skills, you easily listen, lead, and influence people around you. By communicating in a trusting and confident way, you can build and maintain trusted relationships and a strong network with both external and internal stakeholders.

Our Culture

Our role is clear – through every action, every day, we make the shift and advance the world through engineering. We believe in an inclusive, equal, and open-minded culture, and we nurture our diversities to form a solid foundation for achieving great results. Add fair and rewarding benefits, as well as many different career options. Are you intrigued? Visit our website, LinkedIn, or Facebook page to get to know us further.
