As we scale, we are now looking for an Engineering Manager to be part of our journey to transform the financial landscape for entrepreneurs.

About the role

As an Engineering Manager at Qred, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our organizational design, people management, and way of working. You'll be acting as a development manager for the Revenue domain, which means you will be responsible for leading and supporting our 4 development teams with one Tech Lead per team. Your focus will be to ensure alignment with our methodologies and foster collaboration within the Revenue domain. This role calls for a visionary leader with a technical background and a passion for building high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Management: Oversee performance & staff management of our engineering teams consisting of ~15 engineers

  • Efficient Way of Working: Champion methodologies like Agile, Lean, Continuous Delivery, and DevOps to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our engineering processes. Drive and align our Qred engineering maturity model through all teams

  • Collaboration and Cross-Functional Work: Foster strong collaboration and communication between Engineering, Product Management, and UX Design

  • Organizational Design: Define team structures, optimize resource allocation and match personalities, ensure scalability and productivity within the engineering organization

  • Recruitment and Retention: Lead the recruitment strategy for Engineering for the domain, attracting top talent and fostering a culture of retention

  • Enable Qred: You will be part of the Revenue Domain and you will have a tight collaboration with CTO, Architects, and Chef Revenue Officer. Your focus will be what is best for Qred, then the product department

Requirements

  • A passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent

  • A technical background with broad full-stack experience, preferred language is Javascript (nodejs / react / react native), we don't expect you to code but we expect you to understand the challenges our engineers face in their competence and in the cross-functional team

  • You would need two years of experience in a Head of Engineering or development manager role in a sizable organization, preferably in a domain structure organization

  • We also see that you have a university engineering degree

  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and modern software development principles

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across functions

  • You like to meet your department and get to know the persons; we believe in non-formal meetings and chats, therefore you need to like an office-first approach to meet the teams as their office days are spread over the week
