Our goal is to change the way cities in Europe are heated and cooled, do you want to shape the future with us?

Our world is in the midst of an energy transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. At Qvantum, we have developed a solution to tackle a difficult challenge that no one has been able to solve before – how to enable the many people in the big cities to live a life without dependence on fossil fuels for heating and cooling at an affordable price. We have developed a wide range of smart heat pump solutions built on modern software. The products are suitable for everything from small apartments to large property complexes and entire residential blocks. The next generation of heat pumps are not only very energy efficient but also designed to be an active node in the electrical grid. Qvantum has developed a series of new capabilities for this purpose including our heat pump to grid (HP2G), flexready, thermal battery and digital doctor features.

We are currently more than 350 colleagues, located in 8 different countries, and we continue to grow at a rapid pace. With factories in Sweden and Hungary, multiple R&D centres and world class specialist competencies in heat pump hardware & software development, energy systems and industrialization we are aiming to become one of the leading players in our segment in Europe.

We invite you to an exciting company building journey filled with development opportunities and an inclusive work environment that encourages professional and personal development together with dynamic and forward-thinking colleagues Join Us

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Sustainability and Certification Manager to join our team and take a leadership role in ensuring our heat pump products meet the highest sustainability standards while also achieving the necessary certifications.

This position requires a combination of expertise in environmental compliance, energy efficiency, and certification management, as well as a passion for driving sustainability in the HVAC industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to guarantee our heat pump products are not only certified for market entry but are also aligned with our sustainability goals and environmental commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the certification process for heat pump products, ensuring compliance with all necessary environmental, safety, and performance standards, including but not limited to ISO, IEC, CE, UL, and regional environmental certifications.
  2. Monitor and interpret evolving sustainability and certification regulations on a national and international scale (e.g., EU Ecodesign, F-gas, P-FAS, etc…) while building and maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies to stay informed on changes in legislation that may impact product design or market availability.
  3. Ensure products meet relevant environmental regulations, such as those regarding refrigerant use, energy consumption, carbon emissions, and product recyclability.
  4. Ensure that products are complying with global energy efficiency, environmental, and sustainability standards, such as eco-design, energy labeling, and carbon footprint assessments.
  5. Develop and maintain records of certifications, sustainability assessments, and compliance documentation, including status updates for internal and external stakeholders ensuring alignment with the company's long-term environmental goals.
  6. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the sustainability of heat pump products, from design through to production and disposal.
  7. Monitor and track sustainability trends and regulations in the heat pump and HVAC industries to ensure compliance and continued innovation in green technologies.
  8. Work closely with other departments (Sales, R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance) to align sustainability and quality goals with business objectives and improve the product life cycle.
  9. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, sustainability, and quality within the organization.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications or education in sustainability practices, energy efficiency, or environmental management is a plus.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sustainability and certification management, and/or environmental compliance, with at least 2 years in the HVAC, heat pump, or related industries.
  3. Strong knowledge of international sustainability standards and regulations, including energy efficiency, carbon footprint, refrigerant management, and eco-design principles.
  4. Experience with certification processes, including UL, CE and energy efficiency labels (e.g., EU Ecodesign).
  5. Familiarity with product lifecycle assessments (LCAs), environmental impact assessments, and sustainable material sourcing.
  6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations and sustainability goals into actionable strategies.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and collaborating with external agencies to achieve regulatory approvals.
  8. Passion for sustainable energy solutions and innovative technologies.
  9. Good knowledge of English, both written and oral.

To thrive in the role, we believe that you appreciate the scale-up phase we are in, where learning and flexibility is needed in combination with a strong drive to build systematic ways of working and implement new tools and methods. We believe you have a strength in following through, attention to details and are driven by creating results. You have a long-term perspective and value both working independently with your team and collaborating with colleagues across different functions and across Europe.
