Job Description:

As a Senior Gameplay Engineer, you will join a small, agile team dedicated to building a fresh, immersive experience. You'll play a key role in shaping and prototyping new ideas, quickly iterating to refine gameplay and ensuring an engaging, player-centered experience. If you enjoy designing layered, interactive systems that encourage exploration and player creativity, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and implement engaging game mechanics.
  2. Develop proof-of-concept prototypes (including paper prototypes, in-engine experiences, and diagrams) to visualize ideas and integrate them into the broader technical framework.
  3. Lead game feature development and work hands-on with gameplay mechanics, supporting animators, programmers, and other designers.
  4. Balance, adjust, and iterate game feel to deliver a captivating core gameplay experience.
  5. Serve as an ambassador for player-centered design, sharing ideas, documenting designs, and ensuring clarity across the team.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine, particularly in gameplay and UI programming.
  2. Strong understanding of gamepad support both in front-end and in-game contexts.
  3. Previous experience in AAA game development, with experience in UI development for consoles.
  4. Experience with TRCs and XRs for console certification.
  5. Creative, curious mindset with the ability to overcome unique design challenges.
  6. Flexible design approach incorporating team members' ideas while bringing your vision to life.
  7. Proficiency in documenting and communicating designs effectively.
  8. Proficiency in Swedish and English communication is mandatory.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Angelscript or certification processes for game development.
