Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden Ingrid Capacity Full time

Do you want to be part of facilitating the green transition? Do you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your actions drive meaningful change? Do you enjoy solving hard problems together with ambitious people? If this sounds like you, this could be a perfect match.

Join us to facilitate the green transition
Electrification and the transition to fossil-free energy create fantastic opportunities for us as individuals, as a company, and for society at large. However, it also creates challenges, especially for our energy system. Ingrid Capacity is an energy tech company founded in 2022, and we are determined to solve some of the hardest challenges that stand in the way of the green transition by leveraging new technology and pioneering software development. We develop and optimize flexible energy assets such as large-scale battery energy storage to store electricity when there is a production surplus and return it to the system when there is a shortage. This ensures the stability of the grid, increases the uptake of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, and maximizes the utilization of the grid in a cost-efficient manner.

Today, Ingrid Capacity is in a rapid growth phase with a historic expansion of energy storage in Sweden, while also expanding internationally. We are in the final phase of construction of around 200 MW and will soon enter a new phase of construction of another 200 MW, with a total development pipeline of over 6 GW across Europe.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on professional to lead the development of our energy storage projects. In this role you will be a key player in ensuring the success of the projects, leading negotiations and execution of grid connection, stakeholder engagement, permitting, and land acquisition. The ability to adapt to changes and work efficiently while maintaining quality will be crucial for the role. You will join a dedicated team and be part of Ingrid Capacity's continuous growth journey. In this role, you will work with a wide range of stakeholders, from landowners, grid owners, authorities, and utilities as well as internal stakeholders working with finance, engineering and planning to ensure smooth project delivery.

The role offers variety and requires a hands-on approach, as you will be managing strategic planning as well as negotiating agreements and collaborations. You will take full ownership of projects, guiding them from concept to construction-ready status, proactively managing challenges along the way. This will include traveling to sites for assessments, stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that development milestones are met.

You will report to the Head of Project Development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive project development efforts, to secure land, permits, and grid connections to reach RtB status.
  • Negotiate agreements and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure strong financial viability and technical excellence as well as drive continuous improvements in all aspects of development.
  • Navigate regulatory processes and stay ahead of market trends to ensure compliance and long-term project viability.
  • Identify and proactively address project risks through strategic planning and problem-solving.
  • Oversee project documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards, and seamless project handover.
  • Represent the company at industry events, fostering strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  • Work cross-functionally to align technical, financial, and regulatory aspects of projects to drive innovation and contribute to the company's long-term growth and success.

Key qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in project development, preferably in renewable energy or energy storage.
  • University degree in engineering, business, management or a related field.
  • Technical expertise in energy markets and understanding of grid infrastructure.
  • Experience in renewable energy project development is highly desirable, providing valuable industry-specific knowledge and insight.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Your personal skills
In addition to relevant work experience, we're looking for someone with the right personal skills and motivation, and a genuine passion for renewable energy.

  • Negotiation and stakeholder management skills – Adept at engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Project management and structured problem-solving skills – Enjoys tackling complex challenges with creativity.
  • Relationship and trust building skills – Understanding counterparties' challenges and positions; having conversations that make a positive impact; and resolving issues in a timely way.
  • Hands-on and pragmatic – Able to take on a wide range of tasks to get the job done.
  • Eager to learn and continuously improve – Proactive approach to exploring innovative solutions.
  • Driven self-leader – Takes initiatives, drives projects forward independently and actively seeks growth opportunities.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments – Demonstrating resilience and adaptability to change.
  • Collaborative and communicative – Ensuring smooth internal and external alignment.

We are at the forefront of the global energy transition, dedicated to shaping the future of power generation. Our company is more than a workplace; it is a platform for innovation, where we dare to push boundaries and turn bold ideas into reality.
