Capture Energy, founded in 2023 and with 27 employees currently, aims to be a market leader in the Nordics in providing battery energy storage systems for energy flexibility services in the coming years, a market that is expected to have very high growth. We are a fast-growing Swedish company delivering cutting-edge battery energy storage solutions (BESS) that enable a smarter, more sustainable energy system. With innovation at our core, we're building the digital infrastructure that powers the clean energy transition—starting with our next-generation platform, Capture Cloud.

About The Role

We're looking for a Solutions Architect to take technical ownership of Capture Cloud, our cloud platform powering battery energy storage solutions (BESS). You'll define and drive our cloud architecture using modern tools like Azure, .NET, React/Next.js, and play a key role in transitioning from outsourced development to a high-performing in-house team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll shape scalable, secure systems, bridge business needs with technical execution, and help us build smarter, greener energy solutions.

Work Assignments and Key Responsibilities

Design Scalable Cloud Architecture

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure using Azure, .NET/C#, and modern web technologies.

Develop and Integrate APIs and Microservices

  • Architect and guide the development of RESTful APIs and microservices to enable seamless communication between backend systems, frontend applications, and BESS platforms.

Define Technical Roadmaps and Best Practices

  • Establish and maintain architectural standards, coding practices, and long-term technical strategies to support product growth and reliability.

Collaborate Across Teams and Stakeholders

  • Work closely with Product Management, UX/UI Design, and business stakeholders to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Lead Internal Technical Development

  • Provide mentorship and leadership to developers, promoting high code quality, test automation, and DevOps practices within the internal tech team.

Implement Cloud Infrastructure and CI/CD Pipelines

  • Utilize Azure services, Terraform, and Azure DevOps to set up resilient infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.

Optimize System Performance and Security

  • Ensure high system availability, performance, and data security across Capture Cloud to support the operational demands of BESS deployments.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Cloud Architecture: Proven experience designing and implementing scalable cloud solutions, ideally on Microsoft Azure.
  • Software Development: Strong hands-on experience with .NET/C#, and frontend frameworks like React or Next.js.
  • API & Microservices: Deep knowledge of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and system integration.
  • DevOps & Infrastructure-as-Code: Proficient in CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Docker, and Azure DevOps.
  • Security Best Practices: Solid understanding of cloud security, identity/access management, and data protection standards.
  • Cross-functional Communication: Ability to bridge business needs with technical execution, and clearly communicate architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Leadership: Experience mentoring developers, guiding code quality, and driving engineering best practices.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in solution architecture roles - primarily within SaaS, energy tech, or enterprise systems.
  • Experience working in startups or scale-ups is a plus.
