At COWI, we are looking for a driven and motivated leader to take on the role of Head of Discipline (HoD) – Project Management within Building & Industry. Your role and key responsibilities

As Head of Discipline, your most important responsibility will be to lead, develop, and engage your team of project managers located in Stenungsund. You will have a key focus on recruiting new talent to strengthen our group's capabilities and ensure sustainable growth.

In your daily work, you will participate in your own projects and manage customer relations while collaborating with the leadership team to set directions for projects and staffing. You will also play a crucial role alongside our business development team in the Building & Industry sector, focusing on tenders, cultivating relationships with customers, and acquiring new clients.

Your key tasks will include:

  1. Strategic leadership – Driving the development and implementation of best practices in project management within the department
  2. Project execution – Ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards
  3. Team leadership and development – Coaching, mentoring, and strengthening the capabilities of project managers within your discipline
  4. Resource and workforce planning – Ensuring the right expertise is allocated efficiently across projects
  5. Market and business development – Engaging with clients, supporting tenders, and driving new business opportunities
  6. Collaboration – Working closely with other discipline heads and leadership to ensure seamless project delivery across all disciplines

Your profile

To succeed in this role, you are a natural leader with a passion for project excellence and team development. You are structured, proactive, and thrive in a dynamic environment where problem-solving and decision-making are key.

We expect you to have:

  1. A MSc or BSc in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  2. Extensive experience in managing complex industrial projects, preferably within an EPCM framework
  3. Strong business acumen with experience in client engagement and tender processes
  4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  5. Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
