What you'll be doing

Engineering at WEIQ isn't just about coding—it's about crafting solutions that push boundaries and set new standards in the restaurant industry. We want it to be easy and profitable to run a restaurant and we believe that tech is the way there. As a rapidly expanding company, we're on the lookout for talented individuals to join our agile development team. WEIQ is on the lookout for a talented backend developer to join our dynamic team. This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing company in a thriving industry. As a Java developer at WEIQ, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of dining technology. Here's what you can expect you'll be doing:

  • Inspiring and shaping our backend services
  • Working with modern frameworks and tools
  • Working mainly in Java
  • Developing new features and working tightly with our frontend team to deliver high quality products to our users
  • Improving existing code

Who you are

You are a fast learner and a great communicator. You love to try out new technologies and are not afraid to ask questions. You are creative, communicative, and customer-obsessed. You're not just a code wizard, you're a backend whisperer You have an understanding of how clients and users interact with backend systems and are always on the lookout for optimisation opportunities.

You will at least need to have

  • MSc graduate from Computer Science or similar program
  • Worked with or can show backend projects you've worked on in Java

An extra plus is if you have

  • Experience working with securing backend systems
  • Worked with high performing backend systems with high load, large databases, and high availability
  • Worked with infrastructure and devops
