We are looking for a Research Engineer to work with our Affinity Ligand Process Development team in R&D Bioprocess, Uppsala, Sweden. The team is responsible for the development of manufacturing processes for new protein-based affinity ligands used for the production of affinity chromatography resins. The primary focus of this position is to work with the expression of recombinant proteins.

What you'll do

  • Plan, perform and document protein expression experiments in different formats, from small-scale micro titer plates, shake flasks to fermentation in bioreactors. Participate in the development and optimization of platform processes, e.g. expression vectors and strains; and fermentation.
  • Experience of large-scale fermentation processes (manufacturing) is also advantageous
  • Independently plan and accomplish given tasks from Project Manager or Section Manager, to reach given project objectives
  • Present scientific and technical results internally and externally, oral and written communication in Swedish and English

Who you are

  • MSc or equivalent experience in biology, biochemistry, engineering, or related Life Science field. Working experience in relevant fields.
  • Experience in microbial fermentation in different formats, including bioreactor cultivation.
  • A quality oriented, accurate and structured way of working
  • English and Swedish as working languages
  • Result-oriented, flexible, and creative with a strong collaborative attitude

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in fermentation and process development for production of recombinant proteins
  • Experience of large-scale fermentation processes (manufacturing) is also advantageous
