Job SummaryThe Department of Astronomy employs approximately 80 people, and its activities include research, education, outreach and related administration. The applicant is expected to contribute to the research being done at the department, namely the formation of galaxies and galaxy evolution, supernovae and gamma-ray bursts, solar physics, planet and star formation, and computational astrophysics, which includes merging compact objects and cosmic reionization.Qualification requirementsIn order to qualify for the position as assistant professor, the applicant must have completed a doctoral degree in Sweden or an equivalent degree from another country. In the first instance, an applicant should be considered who has received such a degree no more than five years before the deadline for applications. However, an applicant who has received such a degree earlier may be considered under special circumstances.
