ABC Labs is looking for a CEO for its Toxicology business

ABC Labs is looking for a dynamic and strategic individual to join our Toxicology business as CEO and take charge of scaling and further innovating one of the highest impact projects in diagnostics - a fully automated drug testing platform to help create safe and effective workplaces and rehabilitation strategies across Europe.

ABC was created in spring 2020 in direct response to unprecedented challenges of the covid 19 pandemic and scaled to become one of the fastest growing companies in Swedish history; in the process creating a unique infrastructure of technology, automated laboratory production, and a network of academics and industrial leaders at the very forefront of science.

One of the first new applications of this infrastructure is in the fast growing, highly regulated, and fragmented market for substance abuse screening at workplaces.

We have recruited some of the leading academics and key opinion leaders in this field and invested in establishing an accredited automated drug testing platform. This platform combines software with state-of-the-art LC-MS/MS (mass spectrometry) to create a fully digitised end-to-end product that enables market-leading speed, safety, and reliability.

Now, we are looking to secure dedicated leadership to work closely with the Group CEO to scale the business in Sweden and the EU.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing leadership and strategic direction to drive the scaling of ABC's toxicology division.
• Developing and executing on strategic plans and targets, driving initiatives to quickly achieve core objectives and proof points.
• Serving as primary spokesperson and ambassador for ABC Toxicology in public relations activities.
• Building, cultivating, and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the drug testing ecosystem as well as identifying and executing on opportunities for partnerships and collaborations.
• Building and leading high-performing teams, creating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Ensuring operational excellence and efficient processes measured with clear priorities and Key Performance Indicators.
• Managing the creation of financial strategies, forecasts, and budgets and delivering on the P&L and defined targets.
• Helping build and execute on an M&A strategy to enable faster growth and entry into new markets.
• Managing potential capital raises.
• Ensure compliance and foster a culture of integrity, transparency, and ethical behaviour throughout the organisation.

To thrive and succeed in this role, we believe you:

• Have experience of working as a Founder, CEO, or Business Manager with P&L responsibility, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering on or above target.
• Have a commercial track record of building, maintaining, and developing long term customer relationships.
• Exhibit great leadership skills with the ability to attract, motivate, and develop talent while coaching high-performing teams.
• Demonstrate a high level of commercial and strategic skills, combined with the ability to plan both long-term as well as focus on operational tactics.
• Possess excellent communication skills and ability to interface with diverse stakeholders such as regulators, policy makers, media, investors.
• Thrive in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment, working at high pace and tight deadlines, in collaboration with an interdisciplinary group of experts.
• Embrace a growth mindset, demonstrate resilience and grit, and are curious and eager to learn and share new insights.

We also see it as a great plus if you have:

• Experience of working with venture capital, PE, and technology-driven startups/scaleups
• Worked in a highly regulated and/or complex environments
• Led global B2B sales organisations

The role is based in Stockholm and may require travelling from time to time. You will report to the Group CEO and manage the Toxicology area with P&L responsibility.

Salary & Benefits

As CEO you will have market based compensation and participate in a warrants incentive program. We have 30 days of vacation and good benefits.
